What do the children wear to school?
The children wear a school uniform that must be preordered and purchased through school. The girls’ skorts may also be purchased through Quinn Uniform Company on Ivanhoe Ave.
What is the menu for lunch?
1 main item, vegetable, fruit, dessert, milk. Peanut butter &
jelly sandwiches are available. A printed menu is distributed at the beginning
of each school year.
Do you serve breakfast at school?
No. Children may eat at home or bring breakfast to eat in the playroom
before class begins.
What kinds of snacks are served?
Pretzels, crackers, graham crackers, cookies, juice, water

Nursery 12:30-2:45 pm
Pre-K 1 1:30-2:45 pm
Pre-K 2 1:30-2:40 pm

Do the children learn to read?
Pre-reading skills are taught in Nursery 2. Children learn to recognize sight words in Pre-K. Reading is taught in Kindergarten.
Do the children have to tie their shoes?
Pre-K is taught the skill with practice at home. Kdg. must know how to tie their shoes by October 31.
Do the children have to zip, snap or button their coats?
Yes. Practice in Pre-K 2; Kdg. must know these skills by October 31
Do the children learn addition and subtraction?
Addition is introduced at the end of the curriculum for Pre-K 2. Addition and subtraction are taught in Kdg.
What is the Atrium?
The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, our religious education program,
takes place in a room called “The Atrium”. The
children are invited to a prepared environment that is an intermediary place
between the classroom and the Church.
How often does my child go
to the Atrium?
Each child goes to the Atrium once a week.
What do the children do in the Atrium?
The children have a short lesson with the catechist. Then, they are given time to use the materials from the lessons and other manipulatives.
What is the atmosphere like
in the Atrium?
The Atrium creates a safe, quiet place to work reflectively with a variety of materials.
What can parents do to support the Atrium program?
Parents can support the Atrium program by taking their children to Church where they can observe the liturgical seasons. They may also designate a quiet prayer corner in their home with a statue of Jesus and/or a Bible. Parents can encourage their child(ren) to pray with them at the end of the day.
