Celebrate SHV's Italian Heritage

Join in with our staff and other families from Sacred Heart Villa as we celebrate the Italian heritage of The Hill. On Sunday, October 8th, the Villa families will walk in the Italian Heritage Parade. Sacred Heart Villa has its founding roots with four Sisters who were Italian from a congregation of religious Sisters started in Italy. The Hill neighborhood was specifically chosen in 1939 for The Villa because of its strong Italian heritage.  We continue our service to our children today because of the generosity of the families and businesses of The Hill who have supported us for over eight decades.  The Sisters, staff and families of school have walked in the parade for many years as a sign of gratitude to the many Italians who have sacrificed and been of service for SHV. We encourage you to join us this year! Parents can bring strollers or wagons. You can decorate them in green, white and red if you choose. Students of The Villa will wear their school uniforms. (They look so cute in them!) Siblings of Villa students can also walk with us. We will be handing out red plastic cups with The Villa logo to onlookers who will line the streets during the parade. We are grateful to Meramec Dermatology for being our sponsor for this give-away. The parade begins at 12:30PM at Shaw School at 5329 Columbia Avenue and ends at Berra Park. If you will be joining us, there is paperwork for “release of liability” that must be completed for each participant. These forms will be in the school office. Complete the needed forms for your family by Thursday, October 5th. Line up at Shaw School in the north parking lot by 12:15PM.

The Villa will also have a booth at Berra Park where we will have crafts and games for the children, along with some items for sale made by the Villa staff. Stop by and visit with us from 1:00 - 5:00PM. We love to see our former students and families! We are so proud of the accomplishments they have made and how much they have grown over the years. Be sure to stop by so you can have a minute to catch up with Ms. Kris, Sr. Bridget and some of our teachers and Sisters SHV.

If you have any questions, please contact Sr. Bridget: bsmith@sacredheartvilla.org or call 314-771-2224, ext. 132.
